Nandakumar Ankarath is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Senior Partner with Moore Stephens, Chartered Accountants, United Arab Emirates. Nandakumar has over 25 years of postqualification experience in auditing, accounting, financial and management consultancy in various business environments in India, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. He has also served as a member of the Committee on Accounting Standards for Local Bodies formed by the governing body of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to formulate accounting standards for local bodies, autonomous bodies, and nonprofit organizations in India.

Dr. T.P. Ghosh is a professor of accounting and finance at Management Development Institute, India, and a visiting professor of Wollongong University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Ghosh, who has served as the Director of Studies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi, has authored two important reference books for accounting professionals that include Accounting Standards & Corporate Accounting Practices, 8th edition, 2008.

Dr. Yass A. Alkafaji is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Inheriting his Aunt Becky's home in Texas is a God-Send for down-on-his-luck Californian Jake Maxfield. Reeling from the crashing mortgage scene and trying to rebuild a relationship with his teenage kids, the last thing Jake was looking for was love. And not just any love...love with a man.

That man is Cade Littlebear.

Cade, also not looking for love, realizes the attraction he has to Jake. Both single men are raising teenagers and know the difficulties merging families can be especially when you add in the hatred for homosexual relationships where they reside. After deliberation not to hide their budding romance, the men deal with hostility and anger.

Logan writes an amazing story of love, companionship and human kinship that made me want more. The determination and perseverance Jake and Cade displayed was heart-warming and realistic. The way Logan built the tension (both through the love Jake and Cade shared and the bigotry from the residents) was traumatic and down-to-earth believable. The passion, obvious racism and life dilemmas are so descriptive, well- dialogued and beautifully written. While it may appear the men fall in love quickly, in real life, this does happen. We just don't admit to it whereas Logan showed how easily it can happen.

Recently windowed, left with two teenagers to raise and flat broke, Jake Maxfield needed a miracle. That miracle came from his elderly aunt who passed away and left him her house in Texas. Packing up his family, Jake moved from Los Angeles to Westburg, Texas to start a new life. The last thing Jake expected as he was trying to put his family back together was to fall in love. No, actually the last thing he expected was to fall in love with a man.

Cade Littlebear, a single dad raising a teenage daughter was well known in the community. For the most part he kept his private life very private but when Jake arrives in town neither man could hide their instant attraction to each other.

Jake soon learns falling in love with Cade and coming out to his family may be the easy part of this new found relationship. Trying to stay alive when they become the victim of bigoted hatred may not be so easy.

What a story! Leather Nights was such an `I can't put this book down' story. Cade and Jake were endearing and strong characters. They were each other's ying and yang. They drew strength and gave strength to each other as needed. Leather Nights wasn't just a love story and it didn't focus totally on Jake and Cade. There was mystery, action, heavy emotions and a loving family unit that pulled this whole story together. There were very well developed supporting characters and some sick and twisted villains that just held me captivated until the very last page.

There was so much I enjoyed about this book, but it was not a perfect story. I have to admit I was taken aback by how quickly Jake fell for Cade. It seemed a bit quick with where he was coming from emotionally and with Cade being a man. But once they did fall in love it was solid. It had to be with all the obstacles that were trying to break them apart. Readers looking for a fully developed story that incorporates more than the main lovers and have characters that continue to grow and develop as the story progress will enjoy Leather Nights.

What a touching and heartwarming story

I loved every word of this book. The characters were well developed and the attraction between them was approached with sincerety and warmth - from Jake's confusion over his attraction to cade and his worry of how his children would perceive him after the already traumatic time they had been through - to the way Cade felt so deeply for the other man that he was willing to take things at Jake's pace and not push for anything more than to just be beside each other.
But the sex...when it began....good grief! It was hot, descriptive but at the same time warm and emotive and you could feel the depth of the love between these two men who discovered new things about each other that they hadn't even realised.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's a must have addition to any M/M reader's bookshelf.

Not Perfect...

I got this book as it was highly recommended. It is a good book and helps with general detecting ideas and with some detector settings. However, it was frustrating as it is very centered around the Explorer instead of the E-trac. It shows everything specifically about the Explorer and then references the E-trac similarities. As a matter of fact in the settings area (which is the most complicated for new E-trac owners) it just says "Refer to page XX for the Explorer equivalent" or something to that affect.

The two detectors are similar but they are not the same. The author should have either made two books or two specific sections of the book dedicated to each detector. If you own an E-trac and want to learn your detector backwards and forwards you will also have to wade through tons of details and history of the Explorer. I would estimate 75% of the book is Explorer dedicated. If you are moving from an Explorer to the E-trac this book is perfect.

Just a general statement: I have pretty much mastered the E-trac at this point (after 5 years) but I am always learning. My ability to master it has come from countless hours in the field. This book is a good reference now and again but with this hobby the only real way to learn it well is to be in the field swinging the detector very often.

Very well thought out book

I bought it because I skipped the Etrac and went straight to the CTX3030...and I was told this book would really fill in some gaps. It did. Very happy with it.

The Etrac Bible

I bought this book after a week of owning the Etrac. I think that this book will teach you 40% of the machine while the majority is actually detecting in the field. It all depends of you're a book-learner or a hands-on learner. I'm a hands-on person but this book still helped quite a bit. My favorite part about it is it gives recommendations on settings for each field like beach, civil war field, park, trashy areas, and a lot more. Excellent book but you could also go without it.

Electronic for Dummies is Excellent

Electronics for Dummies is a wonderful book for people interested in understanding and considering getting into the field of electronic component repair (not computers, but repairing components such as radios, stereos, amps, etc.).

Unlike college text books (which I have recently used), it is not dependent on math, then more math. You can get through most of the book before having to fool with math, with most math being basic algebra. For basic component repair and hobby's, you'll rarely use math, so that is where this book excels.

The book teaches the reader about the individual components and how to identify them, what they do individually and how they work in conjunction with other components in a circuit, learning schematic and schematic symbols, using multimeters and other testing equipment. Again, this is what most of us want and need, not tons of math that would be needed if you were considering an "electrical design" path, but not needed otherwise.

Again, I recommend this book for anyone that is flirting with a career path or retirement income towards "electronic component repair" or just wanting to better understand how the components work.

A gentle introduction to electronics for "newbies"

If you don't know anything about electronics and want a well-witten introduction, this book would be a good choice. It describes both analog and digital electronics in clear prose with the typical light humor that is the tradition of the "Dummies" books. There are some helpful illustrations that show how charges flow in a circuit and how they accumulate in a capacitor and how they work in a semiconductor. It covers the simple algebraic math of Ohm's and Kirchoff's Laws as well as capacitive and inductive reactance and impedance. It describes some of the most common analog and digital integrated circuits and how they can be used in creating various kinds of circuits. It introduces schematic symbols from the beginning and later devotes an entire chapter to understanding circuit diagrams. There are sections on safety, basic manual skills such as soldering, and where to purchase parts and tools as well as some online resources for learning more. Finally, it has some simple projects you can make, although I didn't think that this was the strongest part of the book.

I bought this for my granddaughter to provide the theory to go along with the practical experience of building simple circuits with the Snap Circuits kit. It seemed the best of the introductory texts I reviewed for this purpose.

Very Well Done

This is one of the better basic electronics books out there, in part because it is so basic. The author starts with electrons and goes from there in simple, non-technical language to introduce you to how the things around us work, Although the work starts at a very basic level, it builds through computers, control systems and schematics, grounding the reader carefully all the way. The treatment is about as non-mathematical as you can get when talking about electronics. It is also primarily not a project book. Just a clear explanation. A very good book to get you started in electronics.
